A Fish Tale

M. Ann Loring · 253 pages

An upbeat fiction novel loosely based on real events

What begins as a routine assignment for a big-city journalist quickly becomes something far more unexpected—and far more personal.

Tasked with covering the working fish industry, she arrives prepared to observe, report, and leave. Instead, she finds herself drawn into a close-knit coastal community steeped in history, hard work, and quiet humor. Among the boats, the docks, and the daily rhythm of the sea, she discovers not only the untold stories of an often-overlooked way of life, but also an unexpected connection with a fisherman whose world is as steady—and as unpredictable—as the tides.

When a seemingly simple quest for a pair of white boots sparks an adventure neither of them anticipated, their carefully ordered lives begin to unravel. Distance, circumstance, and the demands of two very different worlds threaten to pull them apart.

In a story filled with heart, humor, and the salt-air pull of the unknown, one question remains:

Does love really conquer all?

Perfect for readers who enjoy warm, character-driven fiction with a touch of adventure, romance, and the unexpected beauty of everyday lives lived close to the water.
